Special Message to Shareholders

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING

OF THE DEWEESE-DYE DITCH AND RESERVOIR COMPANY

   Notice is hereby given that the annual meeting of the stockholders of the DeWeese-Dye Ditch and Reservoir Company will be held at the Golden Age Center, 728 Main St., Canon City, Colorado, at 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, the 14th day of January, 2012 (the same being the day fixed by the Bylaws of the Company for the election of directors) for the following purposes, to-wit:

1—To authorize the 2012 assessment on capital stock to be levied prorata on the shares of stock to maintain the ditches and reservoir in good repair and to pay the indebtedness heretofore contracted for the repair of the ditch and the interest thereon.

2—To elect two directors.

3—To transact any other business which may properly come before the shareholders.

   If you are unable to attend this meeting, fill out a proxy, writing in the name of a stockholder who can attend and represent your shares.  Sign the proxy.

8/25/11:  Due to the drought in the Westcliffe area we estimate September 19, 20, 21 will be our last run of water for this year.  We will have used all of our stored water and the 200 acre feet of water we purchased form the Southeastern Water Conservancy District.

6/23/11: Due to drought and shortage of water in Lake DeWeese, the Board of DeWeese Ditch has decided to extend the watering season by directing water to shareholders only one day per week.  Beginning June 27 and until further notice Division I will receive water on Monday, Division II on Tuesday, and Division III on Wednesday.

5/12/11:  The ditch is shut down to allow repairing a leak, will be off May 12, 13, & 14.  Will resume on Monday May 16.

4/5/11:  Ditch water should begin on May 2nd.

The ditch as been shut down for the winter.  Check back in the Spring for information on start-up.  In the meantime, please attend or check the monthly meeting minutes posted here.

 

9/20/2010:  The Water Commissioner informed us we will be out of water October 3, 2010.

9/13/2010:  It looks like we have enough water left in Lake DeWeese to continue running twice a week into early October. 

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors is held at the Golden Age Center, 728 Main Street, on the first Monday of each month at  7 p.m. in the summer when we are running water and at 5 p.m. during the winter months when we are not running water.  Shareholders are welcome to attend and express their concerns.
